Audio Cables
DT-12
A 12-channel audio snake. Most commonly used when it is necessary to run many audio cables to one central location, before splitting them out to various locations.

XLR
Most typically a 3-pin connector. It is primarily used to transmit microphone or balanced line-level audio signals. Note that there are also 4-pin, 5-pin, and 6-pin varieties that are used for other applications.

Video Cables
BNC
A coaxial cable used for both audio and video. Commonly used on our trucks for transmitting video signals from the truck, or receiving video signals to the truck. Can be used for both analog and SDI (digital) video. When used for SDI video, it is limited to 300′ of total distance.

HDMI
Used for transferring High Definition (HD) video and audio over one cable. Consumer level equipment, some Pro-sumer, and some newer Professional level gear will use an HDMI cable to receive their picture.

Triax
Used to connect and power cameras to the truck. Transmits video and audio from the camera to the CCU, as well as supplying intercom connectivity, return video paths, remote shading control, and power back to the camera. More robust than SMPTE fiber, however it is limited to 1080p as a max resolution.

Fiber Cables
ST Fiber
The broadcast standard for single fiber links between equipment. While it can be used for a large variety of purposes, it is commonly used to transmit SDI video over distances greater than 300′. Can also be used to transmit audio, serial data, and other signals, depending on the transmitters and receivers capabilities.

SC Fiber
Typically used for IT networking. While not commonly used for broadcast, on rare occasions it is used as a substitute for ST Fiber.

SMPTE Fiber
Used to connect and power cameras to the truck. Transmits video and audio from the camera to the CCU, as well as supplying intercom connectivity, return video paths, remote shading control, and power back to the camera. More fragile than triax, but can be used for higher quality formats, such as 4K video.

Power Cables
Power cord
Provides power to equipment, such as monitors and power supplies.
