A joint production of Classic Teleproductions and The Mid-American Conference has been named a finalist for the 2020 SVG College Sports Media Awards. The award recognizes those who have pushed the envelope and set a higher standard for all who are part of the college sports video industry.
Classic’s production of the MAC Women’s Basketball Tournament game between Central Michigan University and Eastern Michigan University is one of five national finalists for the honor. CBS Sports, FOX Sports, PAC 12 Networks, and ROOT Sports are among other finalists in the Outstanding Live Game Production category. David Bacon and Jacki Windon called the action. Classic’s Mike Bacon and the MAC’s Bob Gennarelli were the Executive Producers. Adam Meyer was the Producer and John Stealey was the Director.
Judging for the award was done by a blue-ribbon panel of college sports professionals. This is the twelfth year the SVG College Sports Media Awards have recognized the best of the best in college sports video production. The Sports Video Group (SVG) and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) coordinate the annual competition.
The 2020 ceremony was originally scheduled to take place at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta but the Covid-19 Pandemic cancelled this years’ gala. The SVG College Sports Media Awards ceremony will be streamed live on the group’s YouTube Channel Thursday June 25th at 7 PM.
